Ko Shan Theatre | Yau Ma Tei Theatre Venue Partnership Scheme : Cantonese Opera Young Talent Showcase 2025-26 (Phase 2)

Description

Cantonese Opera is Hong Kong's indigenous art form and the city's only performing art inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The 'Young Talent Performance Series' is an important part of the effort by the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong to pass on the art of Cantonese Opera. Under the leadership of six artistic directors, namely Ms WANG CHAO Qun, Ms Chan Ka-ming, Mr Chan Hung-chan, Mr Sun Kim-long, Mr Lung Kwan-tin and Mr Leung Shiu-ming, this profound performing art is systematically passed on to young talents, and through stage performances, the capabilities of Hong Kong's Cantonese Opera young talents are showcased to audiences.

The second phase of the renovation works of the Yau Ma Tei Theatre has commenced. During the works, the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong's 'Young Talent Performance Series' will be held at the New Wing Performing Theatre of the Ko Shan Theatre, continuing to bring a series of wonderful performances to opera fans.
